Inspire Award Manak

  • INSPIRE AWARD MANAK scheme implemented by Department of Science And Technology (GOI) has been revamped under the name INSPIRE AWARD MANAK(Million Mind Augmenting National Aspiration And Knowledge) with the basic objective of “START UP INDIA” initiative launched by Hon’able Prime Minister Of India.
  • INSPIRE Award – MANAK to attract & motivate students in the age group of 10-15 years studying in classes 6-10th to become critical thinkers & future innovators. A synopsis of the project to be prepared by the student to be annexed with nominations. The selection criteria adopted would be  innovation/ creativity/ novelty/societal needs.
  • The ideas to be submitted by the heads through E-MIAS (E-management of Inspire Award Scheme) portal. Selected ideas will get Rs.10,000 each. They will get chance to participate in Distt. Level Exhibition of Inspire. From District Level max. 10% ideas got selected for State Level Exhibition and from State level further 10% ideas got selected for National Level Exhibition. 10% shortlisted models for National Level will be given 20,000/- each. At National Level students max. 60 ideas got selected for International Level.
  • Annual festival of innovation of top 60 selected Models in Rashtrapati Bhawan by NIF.
  • Product Development – NIF to examine feasibility of product development to link with other schemes of DST.
  • Patent Possibility of shortlisted 60 Projects/Models from NLEPC.

ICT @ School Project

  1. ICT @ School Project is being implemented in Sr. Sec. Schools and High Schools of the state.
  2. The prime objective of the Project is to use Multimedia Educational Content as teaching aid in smart class rooms for better teaching and learning.
  3. All concerned teachers should use Multimedia Educational Content during their periods/lectures as a teaching tool for a better understanding and learning of hard spots in the concerned subjects.
  4. The teacher should consider these tools as their friend, which would reduce their burden.
  5. Teachers should understand that tools in themselves are not effective but the innovations with which the teacher uses them makes effective.
  6. Proper implementation of ICT @ School Project at the institution  level is ensured by the active participation of the school Principals.

Atal Vardi Yojna

Atal Vardi Yojna has been started by the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh. Under this scheme, free school uniforms are distributed to all Boys and Girls from class 1st to 12th. Stitching charges amounting to Rs 200/- are also provided to all the beneficiary students. School uniform to class 1st to 5th is given by the Department of Elementary Education of Himachal Pradesh.

During session 2020-21, 87986 free school uniforms were distributed to the students of class 6th to 12th in Distt Kangra.

Swami Ramanujam Students Digital Yojna

Under Swami Ramanujan students’ digital yojna, laptops are awarded to meritorious students of classes 10th & 12th in the state. In the session 2017-18, 1648 laptops were distributed.

Vocational Education in Schools & Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.)

Vocational Education was started in Gov. Schools in Himachal Pradesh in the year 2013 and in Kangra district Voc. Education was started in 14 GSSS. At present 152 schools in District Kangra are providing Vocational Education to 11949 students of classes 9th to 12th in different 15 trades/ Sectors.

Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.)

At present B.Voc. is running in 12 degree colleges in Himachal Pradesh. In Kangra district Two degree colleges (GDC Dharamshala and GADC, Nurpur) are offering B.Voc. courses. Two types of courses are offered for students wef. 2017-18 session. The duration of these courses is 3 year. The courses offered are Retail Management and Hospitality and Tourism.

Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) is the facilitating agency for the implementation of B.Voc. programme. It will finance this programme in 12 degree colleges through it’s Skill Project.
